The Borden Tragedy by Rick Geary

The account presented in THE BORDEN TRAGEDY was excerpted and adapted from the unpublished memoirs of a (thus far) unknown lady of Fall River, MA.  Since the typewritten, unedited manuscript came to light at a 1990 estate sale, its provenance has been established to a satisfying degree.  As part of the contents of an unopened trunk, it resided since the turn of the century in the basement of a private archive in Boston.

The identity of the author is unknown but they leave tantalizing hints throughout the text.  Her apparent intimacy with the Borden family and her knowledge of Fall River's history and social structure have prompted theorists to champion several candidates, even the ambiguous and elusive "family friend", Miss Alice Russell.

Presented in graphic novel format, this tale will delight old fans of the Borden lore and capture new ones.

The Future of Us by Jay Asher & Carolyn Mackler

It's 1996, and Josh and Emma have been neighbors their whole lives.  They've been best friends almost as long-- up until last November, when everything changed.  Things have been awkward ever since, but when Josh's family gets an America Online CD-ROM in the mail, his mom makes him bring it over so Emma can install it on her new computer.  When they sign on, they're automatically logged onto Facebook... but Facebook hasn't been invented yet.

Josh and Emma are looking at their profiles fifteen years in the future.  Their spouses, careers, homes, and status updates-- it's all there. But it's not what they expected.  And every time they refresh their pages, their future changes.  As they grapple with the ups and downs of what their lives hold, they're forced to confront what they're doing right-- and wrong-- in the present.

The Death Cure by James Dasher

Thomas knows that WICKED can't be trusted.  They stole his memories and locked him inside the Maze.  They forced him to the brink of death by dropping him in the wilds of the Scorch.  And they took the Gladers, his only friends, from him.  Now WICKED says that the time for lies is over.  That they've collected all the data they can from the Trials and will rely on the Gladers, with full memories restored, to help them with full memories restored, to help them with their ultimate mission: to complete the blueprint for the cure for the Flare.  But Thomas must undergo one final test.

What WICKED doesn't know, however, is that Thomas has already remembered far more than they think.  And it's enough to prove that he can't believe a word of what WICKED says.  The time for lies is over.  And the truth is more dangerous than Thomas could ever have imagined.

The Scorch Trials  by James Dasher

Solving the Maze was supposed to be the end.  No more puzzles.  No more variables.  And no more running.  Thomas was sure that escape meant he and the Gladers would get their lives back.  But no one really knew what sort of life they were going back to.  Burned by sun flares and baked by a new brutal climate, the earth is a wasteland.  Government has disintegrated-- and with it, order-- and now Cranks, people cover in festering wounds and driven to murderous insanity by the infectious disease known as the Flare, roam the crumbling cities hunting for their next victim... and meal.

The Gladers are far from done running.  Instead of freedom, they find themselves faced with another trial.  They must cross the Scorch, the most burned-out section of the world, and arrive at a safe haven in two weeks.  And WICKED has made sure to adjust the variables and stack the odds against them.  Thomas can only wonder-- does he hold the secret to freedom somewhere in his mind? Or will he forever be at the mercy of WICKED?

The Maze Runner by James Dasher

When Thomas wakes up in the lift, the only thing he can remember is his first name.  He has no recollection of his parents, his home, or how he got where he is.  His memory is empty.  But he's not alone.  When the lift's doors open, Thomas finds himself surrounded by kids who welcome him to the Glade, a large expanse enclosed by stone walls.  Just like Thomas, the Gladers don't know why or how they got to the Glade.  All they know is that every morning, for as long as anyone can remember, the stone doors to the maze that surrounds them have opened.  Every night, for just as long, they've closed tight.  Every thirty days a new boy is delivered in the lift.  And no one wants to be stuck in the Maze after dark.

The Gladers were expecting Thomas's arrival.  But the next day, a girl is sent up-- the first girl ever to arrive in the Glade.  And more surprising yet is the message she delivers.  The Gladers have always been convinced that if they can solve the maze that surrounds the Glade, they might find their way home... wherever that may be.  But it's looking more and more as if the Maze is unsolvable.  And something about the girl's arrival is starting to make Thomas feel different.  Something is telling him that he just might have some answers-- if he can only find a way to retrieve the dark secrets locked within his own mind.
